After 4 documented failed attempts to install debian at my new desktop computer (sys004), I decide to install ubuntu first. One attempt and succeeded in 1 hour (download, burn, install, run). In all that euphoria, I put the installation CD into my laptop (sys003) and tried to install. Of course. Wrong architecture (a 5 year old laptop won’t run amd64). Downloaded the amd64 release and installed it while at work at night (HDD problems, but no problem with a live CD). Works perfectly and now running two nice ubuntu installations within 14 hours. Debian hates me!
