PhD degree statement
As of Oct 2019, I will be employed at TU Graz for a PhD programme.
In particular, at the Institute of Applied Information Processing and Communications.
How long am I going to do this? Between 2 and 6 years. Find the details at the institute's doctoral studies website.
My PhD advisor is going to be Stefan Mangard leading the Secure Systems group.
Stefan is specializing on security of cryptographic systems. In laymen terms, think of it this way: we encrypt a message. What happens it we disturb this computation a little bit? Does it compromise the security of the system?
This will also be my field of interest. In non-laymen terms, fault attacks will be might first scientific topic and I will try to contribute to lectures related to CPU/RISC-V designs.
I am going to phase out my company typed;company.
This will be effective somewhat in 2020. As of summer 2019, I won't take up any new projects.
In case you are in customer: No immediate action needs to be taken, but I will allocate corresponding time and resources to finish projects with you and hand over running projects.
What about other things I do in life?
- PyGraz, GoGraz, Rust Graz
I will not contribute to GoGraz anymore, but might visit it from time to time.
I will continue to organize PyGraz. I will focus on Rust Graz and will give regular talks.
- Grazer Linuxtage
- Changes will be discussed in accordance with other representatives.
- Aikikai Graz
- No changes planned.
- Bachelor's degree Mathematics
I have spent the last year finishing courses with compulsory attendance. In accordance to my plans, 3 practicals (those imply attendance) will be left after this semester [in other words: few].
However, many of the difficult lecture exams, I struggle with, are left. In the next years, I am going to finish those, but won't hurry. In general, I plan to finish my degree before my PhD.
